São Paulo, December 2020 – In its first year of operation, BP Bunge Bioenergia, one of the leaders in the sugar-energy sector in Brazil, was elected Sugar Mill of the Year in two categories of the MasterCana 2020 Award: “Business Strategy – Management”, for the company’s foundation case; and “Agricultural Automation – Technology & Innovation”, for SmartLog, a control tower that uses 4.0 technology in online logistics management and monitoring, in real time and in an integrated way for the entire HTT (harvesting, transhipment and transport) chain.
“We are very proud to win the MasterCana 2020 Award in these two important categories in our very first year of operation. We are a young company that invests in the use of technology focused on field productivity and industrial efficiency, with financial strength, management experience, and productive, logistical, and commercial capacity. And this acknowledgment encourages us more and more to build benchmark practices in the sector,” says Mara Pinheiro, Director of Communications and Institutional Relations, BP Bunge Bioenergia.
Sponsored since 1998 by ProCana Brasil – a marketing company focused on the sugar-energy sector and responsible for the publication of JornalCana –, the MasterCana Award recognizes outstanding personalities and initiatives in the Brazilian sugarcane agro-industry throughout the year for their differentials in technological, human, and socioeconomic improvement for the sector.
The event was broadcast live online on Wednesday, December 9, in a ceremony that respected the recommended safety and health protocols for the COVID-19 pandemic.
