BP Bunge Bioenergia donates hospital beds in Itumbiara, in the state of Goiás

São Paulo, October 2020 – BP Bunge Bioenergia, one of the leaders in the sugar-energy sector in Brazil, will deliver this Thursday, October 15, 10 electric hospital beds that it has donated to the Regional Hospital of Itumbiara Novo São Marcos, in the municipality of Itumbiara, in southern Goiás.

“The donation of the beds is part of our purpose to be ever closer to the communities where we operate and to contribute to the population that will be assisted by this new regional hospital when its general service operation starts”, says Luiz Lupatini, Industrial Superintendent at BP Bunge Bioenergia, who is responsible for the company’s industrial operations in the states of Goiás and Tocantins.

The Regional Hospital of Itumbiara Novo São Marcos was statized by the Government of Goiás to be a general health care unit in that part of the state. Currently, it has been used as a field hospital for COVID-19 cases. The health care unit has been renovated and expanded to be used as a Regional Hospital, and the 10 beds donated by BP Bunge Bioenergia will equip the new wards.
