BP Bunge Bioenergia logistics hub wins 2022 MasterCana Centro-Sul Award

SmartLog, the logistics management hub of BP Bunge Bioenergia, one of the largest sugarcane processors in Brazil, won the MasterCana Centro-Sul 2022 Award in the “Agricultural Logistics” category. The winners’ announcement ceremony took place on the night of this Monday, August 15, in Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo.

“We are very pleased with this achievement”, says Alexandre Martins, Logistics manager at BP Bunge Bioenergia. “More than a recognition, the award reinforces the importance of technology and innovation in the development of solutions that promote efficient operation, with greater productivity and sustainability”.

With cutting-edge technology and Industry 4.0 concepts, such a big data, artificial intelligence and the internet of things (IoT), SmartLog manages and centrally monitors mechanized planting and the entire CTT (Cutting, Transshipment and Transport) operation of the 11 agro-industrial units, involving approximately 1,200 agricultural equipment. In this harvest, it also expanded its operations to the irrigation and fertigation processes in five plants, with plans to complete this implementation in all units in the 2023/24 harvest.

In addition to real-time monitoring, SmartLog is also responsible for managing the fleet’s telemetry and identifying, via satellite images, fire outbreaks in sugarcane plantations, for a more agile and efficient activation of the Firefighting Brigades.

This is the fifth time that BP Bunge has been recognized in the award. In 2021, it won in the “Agroindustrial Availability & Reliability – Performance” and “Ethanol Production – Management” categories. In the 2020 edition, it won in “Business Strategy – Management” and “Agricultural Automation – Technology & Innovation”. Since 1998, the award has recognized outstanding personalities and initiatives in the sugarcane agroindustry.
